(In this statement, we refer to Amsterdam Craft Beer Fest as ACBF).
Privacy is very important, and ACBF respects the privacy of the individuals about whom it receives information and treats that information as strictly confidential.
This Privacy Statement describes how ACBF handles personal information, such as personal data from visitors to our website, registered data for our accreditation system, volunteers and employees, or audio/video recordings and photography during an ACBF event.
ACBF considers it of the utmost importance that the collection and processing of your data is carried out in a careful and secure manner. You are advised to read this Privacy Statement carefully. We have done our best to keep this explanation as brief as possible and to make it understandable. In general, ACBF can collect data from you when, for example, you sign up for an ACBF newsletter, send us an email, make your information publicly available via social media or another public platform, use our (festival) website, app, or social media, or are invited as a guest to an event organized by ACBF. We use the information we receive in this way to provide our services, to improve them, for marketing purposes, and to offer our customers high-quality, personalized service. We will explain this further below.
ACBF may receive information from you in the following ways:
Directly from you – For example, when you send us an email, submit a form on our website, chat with us, or sign up for our services.
Through our own websites and apps – ACBF collects various data through its websites for purposes including the provision, improvement, and registration of its services. The advertising platforms we use also employ various technologies to collect and store data. This includes the use of cookies to identify your browser or device. When you visit our website or use our services, we also automatically store certain data in server log files. This data includes details about how you use our website or services and your IP address. We may also receive location data via our app and/or social media, provided you give your consent.
At events – ACBF may also process visitor data at events it (co-)organizes, such as recording an event (with a camera) for commercial or security purposes. Visitors are always informed of such processing upon entering an event venue.
Accreditation – ACBF records your data when you are invited as a guest, supplier, or sponsor to an event (co-)organized by ACBF. We use this data to provide our services and to communicate with you.
ACBF may process various types of user data, including personal data. The data ACBF may collect from you includes:
Contact details – Such as your name, address, phone number, and email address;
App and website data – Such as your IP address, unique device identifier, traffic and location data, and your activity on our website or app. For more information about the use of cookies, please refer to the “Cookie Policy”;
Information you post publicly – Such as comments on our blog or posts on social media sites we manage;
Special data – If you have a disability, we want to ensure that you can enjoy the best possible experience. To accommodate your accessibility needs, we collect information about your requirements. This may include information you provide to us regarding your mental and physical health when requesting a disabled access seat;
Video footage recorded during our events.
ACBF may use the aforementioned data for the following purposes:
To fulfill our agreement with you.
We use your data when you receive accreditation for access to an event organized (in part) by ACBF;
To provide you with customer service.
For our legitimate business interests.
To conduct market research and analysis to improve our events and services. We use Google Analytics to analyze traffic to our websites and apps;
For our marketing purposes, to provide you with information about events (co-)organized by ACBF, offers, and other events (such as festivals) organized by or on behalf of ACBF. This includes, for example, emails with event information or email alerts about similar events;
To send emails regarding our accreditation system;
To prevent or detect unlawful conduct, to protect or enforce our legal rights, or in other cases permitted by law. As such, we may use your data to prevent misuse of our intellectual property (e.g., our brands or partners), fraud, or other criminal offenses.
ACBF or a media partner may make (or have made) video and/or audio recordings during the event. ACBF may use these recordings on its website or to promote the event via social media networks, such as (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, X, or YouTube. In addition, the recordings may be used on the media channels of the media partner(s), which may include radio and/or television. Recordings (audio, video, or photos) may therefore be made public or reproduced via various media channels of ACBF and/or media partner(s), without ACBF or media partners owing any compensation to the visitor.
ACBF may use recordings made as part of video surveillance for security purposes.
Your data will not be used for any purposes other than those mentioned above.
By agreeing to the terms and conditions on our website or by attending an event organized by ACBF, you give us permission:
To contact you with information regarding ACBF. This may be done via email, push notifications, web notifications, SMS, or social media platforms.
To contact you with information about future similar events. You can change your marketing preferences at any time; see the section “Your Choices & Rights” below;
To provide you with services based on your location—such as through our festival app. We may use your location to send you push notifications about what’s happening around you;
To deliver personalized advertising and marketing communications on our websites and apps (see our Cookie Policy for more information);
To process your health data to meet your accessibility requirements—if you have a disability and choose to share this information with us.
To use video surveillance to ensure the safety of visitors and the security of people, buildings, and premises. Visitors are informed of the presence of video surveillance upon entering the ACBF premises. In the event of an emergency, these recordings may be provided as supporting evidence to government authorities, including law enforcement and judicial authorities.
To make (or have made) video and/or audio recordings that may be published or reproduced via ACBF’s media channels and/or those of media partners, in which you may be visible.
We do not share your personal data with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of ACBF, except in one of the following circumstances.
To fulfill a contract.
Sharing your personal data with third parties is permitted when necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. Additionally, we share your data with the mail carrier/courier to deliver documents or goods to you when necessary.
For the registration of an accreditation to obtain access or parking for an event
With your consent:
With your consent, we may share your personal data with other parties. Consent is only valid if it is clear what you are consenting to and what the consequences of that consent are.
For external processing
We provide personal data to our partners so they can process data on our behalf, based on our instructions and in accordance with our privacy policy and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. By “partners,” we mean, among others, our IT suppliers, website administrator, ticket sellers such as WeezTix, and our venue partner.
For legal reasons
We share personal data if we believe that disclosure of the data is necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations, legal proceedings, or requests from government authorities.
Legal Obligation
If required by law, we will disclose your personal data.
With the exception of the third parties mentioned above, this Privacy Statement does not apply to third-party websites, such as websites or apps of ACBF sponsors to which ACBF links, or social media buttons on our websites through which the operators of these social media services collect your personal data. ACBF is not responsible for the privacy policies of third-party websites. ACBF recommends that you visit the relevant websites to review the privacy policies of these third parties.

We are happy to provide you with the opportunity to view, change, or delete all information provided to us and stored in our systems (such as our CRM, marketing, and administrative systems).
Given the number of systems that need to be checked, processing a general request for access may take some time. We aim to respond to this request within 30 business days and ask for your understanding.

At the bottom of every message you receive from ACBF (or its contractors), you are given the option to unsubscribe from the mailing list so that you no longer receive information from ACBF (or its contractors).
You can also use your device settings (such as on your mobile phone) to enable or disable sharing your location data or receiving push notifications from ACBF;

We work hard to protect our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data in our possession. In particular, the following applies:
We encrypt all services using SSL.
We evaluate our practices regarding the collection, storage, and processing of data, including physical security measures, to protect against unauthorized access to systems.
We restrict access to personal data to employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf.
We do not retain data longer than necessary to provide the services you have requested. We will securely delete your data when it is no longer needed for these purposes. Your personal data used for our accreditation system will be deleted 2 years after the last event for which you were accredited by ACBF.
We use shared (cloud) services, some of which are located outside Europe. When information is transferred in this way, strict rules apply to ensure that your data remains protected to a high standard. If we do so, we will ensure that the necessary security measures are taken.
